How does the Laser Hair Removal Process Work?
When you decide to go through with the laser hair removal process you will want to know what to expect and what to do before, during, and after the process. It is always best if you do a lot of research before you go through with any process so that you will be well educated on what to expect and what you should do to make sure that you are prepared ahead of time, as well as during and after the process. Here is a list of what you will want to do before and after the process, as well as what it is that you should expect.
The first thing that you will want to do is go in for a consultation. While you are there you want to be sure that all of your questions are answered. You should feel good about the place that you choose to perform your laser hair removal treatment. You want to ask how long they have been doing laser hair removal and how often they perform them. Make sure the place is clean and that they are willing to answer all of your questions without hesitation.
When you have an appointment you will want to shave the area that will be receiving the laser hair removal treatment about 2 to 3 days before you are due to go in for the treatment. The reason for doing this is so that you won't have irritation from the razor while you are undergoing the process. Make sure that you don't get waxed for about 6 weeks before you are do to go through the process.
The process itself will take anywhere from 15 minutes to over an hour, depending on the area being worked on. It will be about as painful as the sting from a rubber band snapping your skin. Once the treatment is over you will want to make sure that you apply some aloe vera to the area for the first few days following the treatment.
After about 2 to 3 weeks it will appear as if your hair is beginning to grow back in. However, this will just be your hair coming to the surface to shed. This process can last for a few weeks. There are things that you can do which will help the hairs to shed faster. You can use an exfoliant when you are in the shower. Once the shed is gone you may see some very small black dots, these too will disappear shorty.
After the shedding has stopped you should have a few weeks where you experience nearly no new hair growth. Once you begin to notice new hairs starting to come in it will be time for your next laser hair removal treatment. This is generally about 6 to 10 weeks after the previous treatment. You will want to schedule your next appointment and go through the entire process again. You may do this for quite a few sessions before you will be completely done.
